Reflections.

Gum plays a BIG part of my day. Every time I'm bored I find myself wanting to chew gum. I also like to keep myself occupied for by chewing gum for some reason. Gum keeps me stress free at  times, and also focused. If gum was a person, it'll be a boy and more specifically my older brother. I know a "older brother" is a bold relationship, but whenever I'm bored gum serves a type of fun for me. Also if I'm suppose to be handling business, but not on task chewing gum will keep me focused and motivated somehow. To be honest I couldn't stop my habit of chewing gum, but I think eating candy and drinking water could slow my habit down. Candy comes close to gum because its a constant motion using my mouth and it keeps me focused and entertained.

  1. THis is great, John! Love the pics and descriptions! Questions:

    1. Interesting how water and candy became your "substitutes". You say that water is "refreshing", but provide more detail on what gum does for your physically and mentally/emotionally that water cannot?

    2. Simularly, what specifically does gum do MORE of than candy for you, both physically and emotionally?

    3. Did this make you think differently about gum in any way? If so, how and why?

    4. You mention that all of your friends chew gum a lot. How influential is this in YOU chewing gum alot as well? If they didn't chew gum, would you chew the same or less? Why?

    Thanks!

  2. Well gum provides my body energy somehow. If I'm bored and feeling a little sluggish I chew gum to cheer me up.
With water and candy I cant keep my mouth occupied with them forever! Candy and water both runs out, gum cannot run out, but its flavor can tarnish.
This experiment didn't make me fee any different about gum because I have an understanding of how vital gum is to my life!
Given that my friends chew gum as often as I do is very influential. If a friend pulls out a pack of gum and chews it, I feel as if I have to ask for a piece. Its like you don't know how much you want a piece of gum until you see someone close to you chewing some. So if my friends didn't chew gum I feel as if I wouldn't chew gum as often because in situations when I'm not thinking about gum, they wouldn't have any to provoke me to ask for any.
